The Chateaugay Archival Center houses the physical holdings of the Chateaugay
Historical Society. The Archival Center is the repository for the Society’s information
relating to the history and development of the geographical area encompassing the Town
of Chateaugay, New York, including Chateaugay village.
Collections
The Archival Center is the result of the Chateaugay Historical Society’s mission of
gathering and collecting informational materials through gifts, purchases, permanent
donations or loan. Among the items collected in the Archival Center are books, pamphlets,
monographs, manuscripts, newspapers, maps, drawings, photographs, prints, various
business ledgers, audio and video tapes, films, CDs, microfilm, etc. All collections are
stored in a secure, stable and proper archival environment, and are available to those who
wish to make use of them.

Our Center includes shelves of materials for the public to use in their research. These rich resources include:
Research
The center has two computers and printers available for anyone doing historical or
genealogical research at the center. Each computer has bookmarked links to various
databases and websites which relate to the area’s history and appropriate genealogical
resources.
